Am sure many of you know for a fact that Saddam was executed so some people could cover their ass.his convictions were and main reason for his execution was for the killing of 148 people whom he said had attacked his convoy but can you tell me which number is greater 148 or 2000 ?If really they were people who meant justice and called for justice among all people regardless of race or country /continent then the so called Iraq invasion could have been african invasion .

We have a big number of human rights abuse in africa than in any other continent and i don't want to really point out countries that i know where leaders have ordered the killing of 2000 people which the whole lot world knows about but never did nothing because they are not people they consider to fall under the word people.they worked side by side with Saddam and shared top secrets of which they had to bury before they spilled out .

If the word people ,generally speaks for all people without selecting ,then Africa should have been the first for the super powers to clean up !!!.

A few points here Noldane:
I can understand your frustration, especially about Mugabe, and I can tell you that Zimbabwe will only prosper again by natural attrition i.e. when Mugabe dies. In my writings (please refer to my blog), I have always grieved for that beautiful country and the great potential lost because of an old man who bears many grudges. However, be assured that when Mugabe does go there is no-one to replace him. It makes no difference whether he has groomed anyone or not--when that man goes the Revolution in Zimbabwe will come to pass.

As for Thabo Mbeki (And as a Brit/South African I feel I can comment): Well, he has his failings and certainly his stance on AIDS and Zimbabwe has been greatly criticised. On the other hand he rules a country that has surpassed economic projections in 2006 and is growing stronger (economically) by the day.It is interesting to note that the RSA has the strongest economy in Africa and 19th strongest in the World. His big problem, internally, is crime and he needs to get on top of that one before it hurts tourism, and thus, his economy.

While this may be the case now - African history has repeatedly shown that it does not last, the syphilitic dictators step in or tribalism rears its ugly killing head...the economy goes out the window along with peace. One can only hope the "white" influence in SA will stop that from happening...though I doubt it will.

Then why cant those of you who know better get together and protest what this man says? Protest loudly, and convince your fellow citizens of the truth!

Very slowly people are realizing that Aids does exist in South Africa through campaigns by NGOs and through losing their loved ones .The S.A government never wanted and is still not funding enough money to campaign and teach it's people about Aids even though He "Mbeki' lost a son to Aids .

What Noldane doesn't understand is that America has no 'friends' in the global community, America has 'interests.' Our interest in the middle east is obvious. We don't really care about Africa because Africa has little to offer us. How do we benefit by coming to Africa's rescue? Do they have a single thing we Americans need?

Echoes the saying, "There is no such thing as allies, just those who share interests."

Good point btw.
